Letter from SASC President
Dear Friends,
For many of us our elders have been a source of great joy, love and support and as they age, deserve the same in return. Unfortunately, far too many seniors face a life of poverty, social isolation, indifference and apathy. This is a sad state of affairs and not acceptable.
For the past 17 years, here at share a smile Chicago (SASC), it has been our constant endeavor to try and bring this critical service to our area seniors and the seniors at Sukhdham. SASC is one of the rare all women managed, entirely volunteer based non-profit, that runs various programs such as Meals on Wheels, Senior Meetups & Activities, volunteering at a Dementia unit, My City My Hood, Food Banks and of course, Sukhdham in India. But we cannot do this alone. It needs a village, a community to assure consistent service to those in need.
Your support- whether in donation or simply by being here- helps to ensure that we carry on seamlessly. On behalf of my team I thank you all so much for your unwavering support over the years. None of this would be possible without my dedicated team of volunteers and members and your generous contributions. Let us all promise to carry on the good work.
